YES AGREE!
It’s tricky with Sam and Dean, of course. Because being Sam’s parental figure has/had developed into such a negative thing for Dean - making that caretaker role his whole life and denying him his independence etc. Which is why so many of us have been watching this season with delight seeing Dean learning to be Sam’s BROTHER and not sticking to the overbearing, suffocating caretaker/parental role.
So whenever Dean acts something like a parent towards Sam there’s this gut feeling in some (it was in me as well in that scene in Sacrifice) that it’s Dean moving backwards to that too focused caretaker role. Ie. the problem isn’t even solely about Cas and what Cas deserves, it’s the fear that DEAN is losing out by treating Sam like a son who always comes first.
But, it’s complicated, you know? Every damn thing is complicated :p
I don’t think the scene in Sacrifice was a regression for Dean (…anymore). Because Dean has come SO MUCH into his own this season, embraced his own identity separate from Sam. So he wasn’t reducing his life/self to being Sam’s keeper again, he was simply embracing the part of his self/identity that needs Sam and acknowledging it as a BIG PART of who he is, the CENTRAL PART of who he is. Which makes complete sense for his character imo. DeanIS MORE THAN HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH SAM, but at the same time he can’t be himself without Sam, he’ll always need Sam and yes, he’ll always put Sam first. But NOT simply out of duty and a lack of self-worth telling him his life isn’t good for anything else, not anymore - now he’s putting Sam first because he wants to and chooses to, while ALSO being able to live and embrace his own life and other friends as well.
So yes - nothing wrong with Dean putting Sam first in his life, not at all. As long as Dean isn’t making Sam the ONLY thing in his life, I’m all good :)
When traffic was making him late for his panel, he didn’t just sit in the car and wait for it to take him to the hotel.
He got out of the car and RAN the rest of the way to the hotel x x x
I’m sorry, but celebrities don’t do that. They accept that they’re going to be late and apologize when they get there. They don’t get out of the car and run the rest of the way to the hotel so that they don’t let down their fans.
Bravo, Mr. Collins. Bravo.

Which one of you fuckers did the thing?
(x)Update: it now says “Kentucky Fried Angel”
aren’t we going to talk about what someone did with the nickname, though
